Project Control Coordinator


Primary Responsibilities: 

Sunpin Solar Development is a solar investment and development company that focuses on the acquisition, development, and financing of solar photovoltaic projects throughout North America. The Project Control Coordinator works on-site and off-site with the EPCM team to organize and maintain complete control over all company documents in an organized and concise manner. 

The Project Control Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of all scheduling and cost control activities to facilitate the timely and cost-effective completion of the Construction Project. This individual develops, monitors and updates the Master Project Schedule to ensure that the Project is optimally executed and meets the program timing requirements. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-Review the project plans and specifications to identify activities and logic used to develop the detailed construction project schedule.

-Assist in determining the primary time table for deliverables, and sequencing the major work priorities into a logical schedule.

-Determine the critical paths required to meet the overall project completion date, modify critical paths based on prevailing conditions, and consult with Project leadership team to develop workarounds to overcome obstacles.

-Receive and understand client/subcontractor constraints, integrate constraints into the project schedule, and evaluate and report schedule impacts.

-Manage and control all scheduling data through project scheduling software (i.e. MS Project, Primavera P6)

-Input actual start and actual completion dates for all activities in the Project Schedule to provide a complete date history of the project.

-Perform schedule status updates and variance analyses; report discrepancies to the Field Superintendents and the Construction Director, and propose actionable workarounds to negative schedule trends.

-Post, publish and distribute updated project coordination schedules. Discuss the current and upcoming schedule milestones and the critical schedule activities in the Weekly Progress Meeting with the Contractors.

-Develop presentation-quality summaries and update production charts as required for standard meetings and/or as requested by the Construction Director.

-Attend regular and special scheduling meetings with the Owner and update the schedule. Notify Construction Director of modified dates that affect the Contractor’s work operations to allow appropriate notification and resolution.

-Direct and oversee all aspects of project cost control. 

-Provide recommendations to the project management team to strategically enhance the financial performance of the project. 

-Create and maintain project forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting 

-Create and maintain tasks related to budgeting, project revenue, invoicing, payment applications, purchase orders. 

-Management and ownership of the company internal purchase order system. 

-Review daily manpower charges, report any variance and management change order process. 

-Issue before and after reports to the project management team to help understand change order impacts on the project. 

-Manage the company’s internal daily reporting system, create reports, and distribute daily variance reports from schedule and budget. 

-Coordinate with the EPC to review and discuss any proposed variances and implement remediation measures. 

Education and/or Work Experience Requirement

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

-Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent experience.

-Thorough knowledge of Solar Construction Scheduling (minimum of 5+ years scheduling/planning experience)

-Solar Construction experience (3- 5 years, Microsoft Project preferred)

-Thorough knowledge of project scheduling concepts, components, software tools (Primavera, MS Project, etc.), and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
